  • His role includes assisting the development team with preconstruction interface with architects, contractors, and key service providers, preparation and execution of design and construction contracts. 
  • Provides oversight during construction, an assisting with project closeout and resolution of post-construction claims or warranty issues. 
  • 40 years of construction experience, including as a design-build general contractor and as owner/manager of a construction management firm.

Experience

Prior to joining Brinshore, Dennis spent 20 years as a successful design-build general contractor in Hawaii and 15 years as the owner/manager of a Chicago area construction management firm, specializing in design-build mixed use projects in Chicago. He also has held positions with national and international construction management firms, including Dillingham Corporation, Morrison-Knudsen Corporation, Epstein International, and Arcadis North America.  His project experience includes high-rise, mixed-use, commercial buildings, hotels and resorts, military housing, historical restoration, medical, utility, technology, and
infrastructure projects.

He is a former U. S. Navy officer.

Public Service and Industry Involvement

Dennis formed of the Hawaii Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, along with its registered apprenticeship training program and training trust. He was also an apprenticeship trainer, and has conducted seminars on construction management, accounting, supervisory training, and CPM scheduling. He has worked as a scheduling consultant and has been engaged as an expert witness and arbitrator in construction cases involving contractor performance, fraud, safety, and construction claims.

Education

Dennis has a BBA in business administration from the University of Michigan, and an MBA in management from Wayne State University.
