Experience

Based in Kansas City, Marilyn joined Brinshore to perform the development management of Brinshore’s growing Midwest affordable housing portfolio and aid with project managing redevelopment efforts under the HUD Choice Neighborhoods Initiatives in which Brinshore is lead developer. Marilyn’s ability to grasp various housing finance programs and their accompanying regulations has led to diverse real estate and affordable housing experience in both the public and for-profit sectors.

 

Prior to joining Brinshore, Marilyn served as a Development Specialist for the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri. In that role she acted as the Authority’s project manager from predevelopment activities through construction completion and lease-up for its 7 phases of new mixed-income housing as part of the Paseo Gateway HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant, which totaled over 300 units and $75 million in real estate transactions. She also initiated and led the agency through repositioning a portion of its public housing portfolio under the HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.

 

Education

Marilyn holds a Master of Urban Planning and BA in Architectural Studies from the University of Kansas.
