Frederick Ball Apartments Celebrates Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Evanston (April 28, 2022) – Quincy Housing Authority and Brinshore Development are pleased to announce Frederick Ball Apartments, located at 818 N. 8th St in Quincy, IL, will hold a ribbon cutting celebration on Tuesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. Built in 1940, the former Frederick Ball public housing development received a complete transformation including new construction on vacant land and beautiful landscaping.
Brinshore is the co‐developer along with the Quincy Housing Authority (QHA) for the revitalization effort. The project consists of the rehabilitation of forty-eight units in addition to the new construction of a seventeen‐unit building. Of the sixty-five units, fifty-nine have Tenant Protection Vouchers, and the remaining six units have QHA Project Based Vouchers. There are (21) 1‐BRs, (27) 2‐BRs, (15) 3‐BRs, and (2) 4‐BRs.

Frederick Ball Apartments is funded in part by the Illinois Housing Development Authority resources including 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Illinois Affordable Housing Tax Credits and Trust Fund Loan. The property is jointly owned by Brinshore and the QHA. Construction finished in December 2021 and the property is fully leased.
