Brinshore Development and Michaels Development Co. are helping to bring mom-and-pop retail and multifamily housing to the Cottage Grove Corridor in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood. The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) selected the development partners to create a mixed-use and mixed-income development on a site where two public housing high-rises once stood.

4400 Grove Wins AHF's Best Mixed-Use Development

Michaels is excited to announce 4400 Grove in Chicago has been named the winner of Affordable Housing Finance magazine's Readers' Choice Award for Best Mixed-Use Development. Built on the former site of obsolete public housing, the property offers 84 contemporary, high-quality apartments and almost 18,000 square feet of ground floor retail and commercial space in the heart of Bronzeville. The development marks yet another milestone in the revitalization of this historic neighborhood. Particularly special about this development is that all the retail space is being filled by local, boutique businesses that are all Black-owned. We celebrate this honor along with our partners, Brinshore Development and the Chicago Housing Authority. To read more about the property and this distinguishing honor, click here.
